Two Columbus architecture firms have scored big hits in designing sports arenas.
An architectural team led by Columbus-based NBBJ will design a $250 million, 42,000-seat facility for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team.
And Moody/Nolan Ltd., already gaining national notice for its Schottenstein Center design at Ohio State University, will serve as associate architect and direct interior design of a $290 million football stadium planned for the football Houston Oilers' move to Nashville.
Both firms likely will end up competing head-to-head for design contracts for professional stadium and arena proposals now under development in Columbus.
