Family Health Plan Cooperative, one of the area's largest health maintenance organizations, has picked Covenant Behavioral Health as its mental health and substance abuse treatment provider for 1996.

Family's contract with Covenant, effective Jan. 1, may mean an end to Family's 17-year relationship with DePaul Hospital of Milwaukee, one of the oldest substance abuse treatment hospitals in Wisconsin.

Family also will end its agreement with Milwaukee Psychiatric Hospital, which has been providing services to Family Health Plan members since 1991.
