The Ritz-Carlton has teamed up with Aldar Properties to develop a 160-room resort on Coconut Island in Abu Dhabi. The property, which will contain 30 suites and deluxe villas, is scheduled to open by 2011.

Malaysia-based Denniston International Architects and Planners is designing the resort with multiple landscape levels, ensuring unobstructed sea and lagoon views. Rooms will be a minimum 55sqm in size, while luxury villas range from 130 to 230sqm. The resort will …
