Large firms, buying in large quantities from multiple suppliers, have seen substantial benefits from using electronic data interchange (EDI) technology. A high volume of transactions and large number of suppliers have made EDI technology cost-effective for these firms. These large companies have motivated, pushed, or intimidated their much smaller suppliers into joining the EDI bandwagon.
