Vermeer Technologies Inc. will this week ship FrontPage 1.0, a World Wide Web publishing and site-management tool for Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT that makes it easier to create and manage interactive Web sites.

In addition to offering a standard HTML (hypertext markup language) editor, FrontPage enables users to create threaded discussion groups, search capabilities, and other interactive features that normally require custom programming using common gateway interface (CGI) scripts.

FrontPage resembles NaviSoft Inc.'s NaviPress, an HTML editor and site-management tool that creates a graphical overview of a Web site, displaying hyperlinks between pages …
