CORVETTE COMPETITION
At least the Pratt & Miller-run Corvette Racing team has a full-season competitor in the GT1 class this season. However, don't expect the Aston Martin DBR9 entered privately by veteran crew chief Jim Bell to challenge the C6.Rs-unless, of course, IMSA steps in with some rules breaks in the name of "class performance adjustment.''
PRIVATE CHAMPION?
Should Audi not return to the ALMS full time (it still had not committed as of press time), the door is open for a strong LMP1-class privateer to win races. The Intersport and Autocon teams don't fit into that category, but others are eyeing the ALMS with interest. The U.K.-based Arena Zytek team is one of them.
