MELBOURNE, March 3 Asia Pulse - Taxpayers will pay a private company an estimated $A60 million ($US55.86 million) a year to run Victoria's planned desalination plant over its 25-year life, News Limited newspapers report today.
Victorian Water Minister Tim Holding has declined to discuss details of the contract to operate the planed $3.1 billion plant, to be built near Wonthaggi, south-east of Melbourne, but Mr Holding said that expressions of interest would be sought from mid-year.
