James Hector, a member of the Palliser exploring expedition, will always be remembered for giving the name to the Kicking Horse Pass, after an incident he experienced. Now, in this book, the author takes a close look at the various trips taken, particularly the ones into the mountains, as well as the hardships (and there were many) that he experienced.
