Partnership seeking sponsor for sports event
Dunlop Tire Corp., original sponsor of a popular sports award dinner that annually brings top athletes to Buffalo, has dropped its support for the event.
Dunlop's move, a long time in the works, has left the event's co-sponsor, the Greater Buffalo Partnership, in a scramble to find a corporate sponsor to fill the tire company's void.
Dunlop Tire Corp. had been the corporate sponsor of the event, known as the Dunlop Tire Pro-Am Awards Dinner, for 23 years. The Town of Tonawanda tire maker decided that the event didn't fit its current company profile.
