This winter 2008 issue of The Journal of Special Education (JSE) marks the close of Dr. Charles MacArthur and Dr. Ralph Ferretti's tenure as editors of the journal. Approximately 1 year ago, Skip and Ralph indicated that they wished to resign as editors of JSE in order to devote more time to other professional endeavors. Their request is understandable, as the time required to edit a journal such as JSE is considerable.

During their tenure, Skip and Ralph have presented articles coveting diverse topics and timely issues of interest to a multidisciplinary audience of scholars. Their experience in the area of special education ensured that the content found in each issue of JSE was balanced and representative of current perspectives.
