Five years ago, we assumed editorial responsibility for The Journal of Special Education, which attained a well-deserved reputation for excellence under the stewardship of Lynn and Doug Fuchs. With the publication of this issue, we pass the editorial reins to Bob Algozzine and Fred Spooner, whose considerable expertise will no doubt ensure the continued excellence of the journal. The special education research community education is very lucky to have them assume these duties.

We have enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with many wonderful people during our term. First, we would like to thank Doug and Lynn Fuchs, who gave us invaluable advice as we began our work.
