The mighty bassline house explosion continues, with East London duo Addictive - Louise Bagan and Aisha Stuart - rocketing to the top of the Upfront Chart with Gonna Be Mine. The track also features T2, whose Heartbroken single was the first significant hit to emerge from the genre, reaching number two on the OCC sales chart and selling nearly 200,000 copies to date.
Gonna Be Mine admittedly only shaded the chart title this week, beating off a determined charge from The Freestylers but it is one of three bassline/house tracks in the Top 10, alongside My Destiny by Delinquent feat K-Cat - which was number one a fortnight ago - and What's It Gonna Be by H `Two' O feat. Platnum, up 25-6, and shaping up to be a leading contender for next week's crown.
The Commercial Pop chart is not immune to the charms of bassline/house, and the aforementioned Delinquent single is at number two this week, close to the Freestylers' more traditional, anthemic house monster, Push Up, Word Up.
