Florida International Affairs Commission Executive Director Nat Turnbull is confident FIAC is "operating right" and will be exonerated once the the state's inspector general's office finishes investigating allegations of playing politics with the distribution of international trade grants.

The inspector general's office has requested documents from FIAC relating to the 1995-96 fiscal year grant awards, as well as travel records for Turnbull.

FIAC, which was created in 1990 to coordinate the promotion of international business in the state, has been accused of reducing funding to groups that came out against its attempt to take over some of the Florida Department …
