A seven-play offense run in one of three tempos with the coach signalling in the plays

The wishbone offense has played a major role in our success at Belvidere H.S., particularly after we added the no-huddle aspect in 1985. Over the next 10 years, we won over 80% of our games, including seven conference titles, 10 play-off berths, and two state championships.

We use the no-huddle all the time, even on our sophomore and freshman levels. The only time we huddle is during time-outs, injuries, and measurements. We have averaged over 60 plays per game every year since 1985. In 1988, we averaged 66.1 plays per game - a national record.
