Never confuse strength training with skill training

Coaches who expect their strength training programs to pay major dividends in improving individual performance, minimizing injuries, and winning games must make the maximum use of their allotted time, and then periodically evaluate their program to determine whether they are using their time productively.

They have to ask themselves such questions as:

Are the athletes benefitting from the program Are the methods being employed fulfilling their intended purpose?

Do the methods have a legitimate scientific basis?

Can the program be run more efficiently?
