Frustrated by Fort Lauderdale's failure to follow through on plans for a merchandise mart there, Trammell Crow International is now talking to Orange County about building the project here.
A recently completed study commissioned by Orange County concludes a 600,000-square-foot merchandise mart in the International Drive area would be feasible, provided the Fort Lauderdale facility is not built.
Dallas-based Trammell Crow International, one of the developers involved in the Fort Lauderdale project, now doubts the Florida International Trade Mart will be built there.
