HIV induced interleukin-10 (IL-10) production plays a central role in the pathogenesis of AIDS lymphoma, a recent study concluded.
Previous research has suggested that the pathogenesis of AIDS-related lymphoma is related to the induction of B-cell proliferation followed by transforming genetic events. As IL-10 stimulates the growth and differentiation of B lymphocytes, it may contribute to the development of B-cell lymphoma.
