Hey Gang:
It is interesting to watch the thread on phantom pain and see the very clear explanations that there are unresolved issues, do regression to cause, it's psychogenic, etc. Nice to know there are so many clear and clever answers.
A part of the experience that I have, as a member of the Chronic Club, includes a phantom limb. No amputation, the phantom is from nerve damage: some are broken, some aren't there anymore.
Regression to cause will take me to a particular date and time, as I flew through the air, floating exactly as gracefully as 150 pounds of bone and gristle float at 50-60 miles per hour, immediately prior to stopping instantly as it slams into the asphalt in a heap of broken bones and avulsed nerves.
Keep in mind a simple thought: IF IT IS PERCEIVED--IT IS REAL--EVEN IF IT IS IMAGINED.
Pain relief is simple, which doesn't necessarily mean that it is easy. I have worked with many people to assist in accessing their relief. There have been times that in one session they get complete relief and never have that discomfort again. I celebrate the success they experience.
