Graphsoft Inc. is planning a major upgrade to MiniCad and bringing the currently Mac-only application cross-platform.

Scheduled for a Macworld Boston announcement in August and a September ship, the $795 MiniCad 6 will include an integrated drafting tool kit, off-screen redraw, QuickDraw 3D metafile format support and a slew of other new and updated features.

The new version will integrate the MiniCad Design and Drafting tool kit, industry-specific tools, symbols, commands, worksheets, hatches, and examples grouped for the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction), mechanical engineering, civil engineering and landscape design segments of the CAD market. …
