I was appalled, and befuddled, by Jonah Goldberg's associating Frank Rich and his recent New York Times rant with "sweaty ham-radio operators and religious militiamen" (The Week, December 3).

Having been an active ham-radio operator for over 60 years, I can assure Mr. Goldberg that we compose one of the most diverse groups of individuals to be found on this earth.
