CLEVELAND -- Renal tumors between 3 and 5 cm can be ablated with complete necrosis at a single session using real-time thermometry, according to the results of a University of Miami study.
Retreatment rates for radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of 3- to 5-cm renal tumors have exceeded 40%, which is unacceptable, Dr. Robert I. Carey said at the international meeting of the Endourological Society.
