Morrison-Knudsen eyes joint venture

The financially troubled firm charged with designing and building E-470 wants to bring in an outside partner to help complete the next two sections of the toll road.

"Morrison Knudsen has advised us that their corporate policy is now one of having partners involved with large projects," said Steve Hogan, executive director of the E-470 authority.

Brent Brandon, vice president for corporate communications at Morrison Knudsen Corp., confirmed that the Boise, Idaho-based firm was talking to a potential partner but wouldn't reveal who it was.

"We won't disclose our partner until we ink the deal," Brandon said. "It's basically a joint-venture partner. They will probably take a piece of the pie." …
