"Copyright is a balance between fair use and intellectual property rights and the balance is working for the economic growth of this country," according to ALA President Loriene Roy, who was commenting on the contents of a September 12 Computer and Communications Industry Association report that concludes that fair use and other copyright exemptions utilized by libraries are major contributors to economic growth in the United States.
