Do you think today's young girls and teenagers grow up too fast and have changed from when you were a kid? Well, you may be getting the wrong idea from those afternoon talk shows. So says a study of Suffolk County Girl Scout Council's membership, compiled by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
Over the last six years, total membership in Suffolk's Girl Scouts has risen from 23,333 in Sept. 1989 to 31,809 in Sept. 1994. This represents an increase of more than 36 percent. And, according to figures obtained by the report, one out of every four girls living in Suffolk County is a member of the Girl Scouts.
