Trouble continues for specialty-car maker Unique Performance ("Trouble at the Mustang Ranch,'' This Week, Oct. 15). On Nov. 1, authorities in Farmers Branch, Texas, where Unique Performance is headquartered, wrapped up a month-long investigation with a raid that resulted in the seizure of 61 vehicles displaying improper or illegible VINs. Impounded were 58 Ford Mustangs and three Chevrolet Camaros, all 1960s-era models in various stages of repair, said Farmers Branch Police Corporal Chad Taylor. No arrests were made.
The latest word is that Foose Design, owned by design giant Chip Foose, has terminated its relationship with Unique, which had been licensed to produce the Foose Mustang Stallion, the Foose Camaro, the Foose Challenger and the Foose Motorcycle.
