LoDo developers transform blight into neighborhood
Coors Field has done more than boost the spirits of Rockies fans. The new ballpark is spurring a remarkable transformation of the once derelict neighborhood across Blake Street, creating a new historic district with the potential to rival lower downtown.
The area, now known as the ballpark neighborhood, is attracting developers who have worked in LoDo and are looking for a district with similar potential. In the last four years, an estimated 600,000 square feet of empty space has been filled in the neighborhood.
