Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid
Mazda's hydrogen research continues with the Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid. Unlike the hydrogen RX-8, the Premacy uses a series-hybrid system with the rotary generating energy for the electric motor that solely powers the van. The result is a 40 percent power increase and a driving range of 125 miles, double that of the RX-8's dual-power drive system.
Mitsubishi CX4
Mitsubishi's take on a future sports SUV is powered by a low-emissions, 1.8-liter diesel mated to the Evolution's dual-clutch transmission. Trunk access is via a split tailgate, while impact-absorbing plastic bumpers handle low-speed impacts and return to their original shape. Interior trim is made from a plant-based and environmentally friendly resin.
