Radiant Oil owner could be the developer

TAMPA

A Tampa businessman with major land holdings in Ybor City is considering building a 130-room hotel along the historic district's main thoroughfare.

Joe Capitano Sr., president of Radiant Oil Co. of Tampa, which is located in Ybor City, and a principal in a number of other family-owned businesses in the area, recently outlined the idea to Fernando Noriega, the city's top development official.

"We told him we're interested, we want to see what he has to offer us, and it's important that we have one big project in Ybor City as soon as possible," Noriega said.
