Nov. 1--The Academy of Notre Dame soccer team is no longer the laughingstock of the Inter-Ac.

In just his second season, coach Stassi Theodoropoulos has converted a losing team into a contender.

The Irish (14-1-2 overall, 6-1-2 league) have secured their first winning season since 1991. They also are second in the league standings.

Notre Dame's lone loss was to Germantown Academy, The Inquirer's third-ranked team in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

The Irish host the Patriots (16-1, 9-0) in tomorrow's much-anticipated rematch.
