Oct. 29--Less than 24 hours after the end of the World Series, the Tigers answered their biggest question of the off-season.

The club announced this afternoon that it acquired shortstop Edgar Renteria from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for prospects Jair Jurrjens and Gorkys Hernandez.

Renteria, 32, will be reunited with Tigers club president/general manager Dave Dombrowski, assistant general manager Al Avila, and manager Jim Leyland, with whom he won the 1997 World Series as a member of the Florida Marlins.

Renteria batted .332 in 124 games with the Braves this year, finishing with 12 homers and 57 RBIs.
