Despite representatives in both countries agreeing that a U.S.-Japan free trade agreement would bring enormous benefits, it doesn't look like one will happen anytime soon.

According to the Associated Press, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Wendy Cutler says Japan is not ready to take the "bold steps" necessary to begin negotiations on such a deal.
