Blackwater, the private security firm, has lost its license to operate in Iraq. The Iraqi interior ministry accuses it of using excessive force during a shootout in which eight people were killed. Contrary to a lot of press accounts about the controversy, Blackwater's employees in Iraq are not above the law and never have been.
