Jesse Adam Macbeth became an antiwar hero when he claimed to have committed atrocities in Iraq as an Army Ranger, including the murders of hundreds of innocent civilians. A group called Iraq Veterans Against the War, among others, promoted his statements. But his was a tale told by a liar and believed by idiots. On September 21, Macbeth, who was never an Army Ranger, was sentenced to five months in a federal prison for making false statements to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The sordid story should have ended there, signifying merely how far a desperate Left will go in its efforts to smear the military.
