We're told that these official photos don't do justice to the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI-the hot hatchback that will make its world debut at the Tokyo motor show later this month.
Regardless of photography, Subaru stylists are leaving no doubt that the 2008 WRX STI is the fire breather of the Impreza family-gaping hood scoop to keep the all-aluminum engine cool; big bulges over the oversized performance wheels and tires; open-breathing four-hole exhaust; and a wing hanging off the top of the hatch.
The WRX STI gets an additional one inch in wheelbase compared with its more sedate brethren, along with wider front and rear tracks. Underneath the body is Subaru's time-tested all-wheel drive-now enhanced with stability control.
