The Marriott flag may be coming to downtown Milwaukee soon.

The Marcus Corp., which owns the Marc Plaza Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, has applied for a franchise from Marriott Corp., Washington, D.C., for the 500-room hotel at 509 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Ian Davis, a senior associate with Hospitality Valuation Service, a New York City hotel consulting firm, confirmed his company is conducting a feasibility study for Marriott to determine the impact that signing up the Marc Plaza would have on the only other Marriott in the Milwaukee area.

And reportedly, officials at the "other" Marriott - Milwaukee Marriott, 375 S. Moorland Road, Brookfield - are moving to block …
