Sep. 28--VISALIA -- An accident that injured several people delayed an event in downtown Visalia for about an hour Thursday night.
A man was shooting T-shirts into a crowd of people at the 14th annual Visalia Waiters & Waitresses Race on Main Street when his cannon exploded around 6:15 p.m.
Visalia Police Chief Bob Carden said it appeared that a CO2 cartridge in the cannon exploded.
The incident injured four to seven people, Carden said.
He did not know their conditions when questioned about an hour after the accident.
