Sep. 28--It was a big-game atmosphere, and the Bishop Miege volleyball team made sure it brought its "A" game.
Thanks to a relentless offensive attack and some terrific defense play, the Stags seized control of the East Kansas League with a 2-0 victory (25-15, 25-18) at St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday.
Bishop Miege controlled much of the first game with its defense. The Stags never let the Saints get into an offensive rhythm, thwarting several potential points with momentum-changing blocks and digs.
