Sep. 26--First, the teacher noticed her car keys missing.

So she took the first opportunity to check in the parking lot, and her worst fears were realized -- someone had stolen her car.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials say it happened Tuesday at Cochrane Middle School in northeast Charlotte.

A substitute teacher told CMS officials that she realized during the day that her keys were missing from the classroom where she was working. After reporting the theft to school officials, the teacher then went to the parking…
