Sep. 24--Garinger High, whose 51-game football losing streak was the longest in North Carolina, ended it with two forfeit victories Monday.
The Wildcats, who hadn't won since 2002, were awarded victories when North Mecklenburg and Vance were discovered to have used ineligible players.
Garinger's 49-0 loss to North Mecklenburg on Sept. 14 and the 41-0 defeat against Vance on Aug. 24 will be counted as victories, which gives the Wildcats a 2-3 record.
Vance also forfeited a 35-34 overtime victory against Harding on Sept. 7.
