Sep. 23--The second in a series of public meetings to discuss proposed boundaries for a pair of new schools in north Charlotte is scheduled for Thursday night.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at Highland Creek Elementary School.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will open a new elementary school next year on Hucks Road and a new middle school in two years on Ridge Road.

The elementary school will accommodate growth in the area northeast of the W.T. Harris Boulevard/Old Statesville Road intersection, and it also will alleviate overcrowding at David Cox Road and Mallard Creek elementary schools.
