Sep. 23--The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' experiment with mini high schools yielded so-so results on last spring's end-of-grade test scores -- with one notable exception.
The New Technology High School at Garinger, one of five smaller high schools on the Garinger campus, achieved some of the biggest improvement in student performance in the CMS system.
The school's 200 or so students achieved high growth on the tests, and 83.2 percent of them scored at or above grade level.
