Sep. 23--Some students attending the Mooresville Graded School District will now have the option to serve their suspension on school grounds.

The new in-school suspension program is for students attending Mooresville and East Mooresville Intermediate schools, focusing on intervention and counseling to correct inappropriate behaviors.

"We're trying to help them understand that they have to be responsible for their behaviors and they need to take advantage of their education," said Superintendent Mark Edwards.

Often students who commit serious offenses such as fighting, threatening others or carrying a weapon on campus…
