Sep. 21--Police found a loaded .22-caliber handgun this week on a student who was being arrested for threatening an Olympic High School teacher, authorities said.

Austin Randall Frazier, 17, was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault on a school employee, communicating threats, carrying a concealed gun, possessing a gun on educational property and possessing a handgun as a minor. He was in Mecklenburg Jail Thursday night on $9,000 bail.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman Nora Carr said the initial altercation happened in a classroom, where the student "became verbally and physically aggressive" with a…
