Sep. 20--CLAYTON -- Clayton city officials and the developer of the proposed Carondelet Village project told residents Wednesday night that the $116 million development could help bring back the days when Clayton was a thriving retail center.
"As all of you know, Clayton lost its status as a destination retail center many years ago, and has watched Richmond Heights, Brentwood, Creve Coeur and Chesterfield and other communities capture consumer spending," said Mark Mehlman, the developer, at a meeting at Captain Elementary School.
