Sep. 20--Police found a loaded .22-caliber handgun on a student who was being arrested for threatening an Olympic High School teacher.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman Nora Carr did not release the male student's name.

She said the initial altercation happened in a classroom, where the student "became verbally aggressive" with the teacher. He was taken out and restrained by the school resource officer and other CMPD officers were called to take him away. They discovered the gun while taking him to the police car, Carr said.
