Not soon enough
How in all that's common sense did ABC end its telecast of the IndyCar Belle Isle race with cars in piles, no victory lap, no podium or postrace interview? I'll bet if it was a sudden-death playoff between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, they'd have preempted everything, including a presidential speech to the people of the United States.
I recently filled out a survey about a new racing network. I said I'd watch it, even if it meant changing my cable provider. Now I have just one question about that race channel: How soon?

I just picked up my Sept. 3 AutoWeek and saw a spy photo of a blue four-door sedan with a headline reading "VW's Passat Coupe Nears.'' Help me out on this one. I have been on the auto scene for more than 50 years of my life, and I have always been led to believe that a coupe was a two-door automobile, usually with a sportier look than a four-door sedan. Lately, I see in your publication, as well as others, that we will be seeing Mercedes coupes, Porsche coupes and now Volkswagen coupes, but all have a four-door configuration. I am confused.
