Sep. 18--Police locked down a west Charlotte elementary school this afternoon after officers in a helicopter thought they saw a bank robbery suspect go inside.

University Park Creative Arts Elementary School had already dismissed students, but about 25 who take part in an afterschool program were still inside at about 4 p.m. That's when police say a man fitting the description given in a robbery at the Wachovia on Kenilworth Avenue walked in.

Police later said the man who entered the building was a CMS employee not involved in the robbery. The suspected bank robber was arrested on Statesville…
