Years ago, when you were a child, the choices of athletic shoes were simpler. The choices were not better, just easier.

You could pick a low top, or a high top.

You could pick black or white.

You could choose between a pair of Keds or PF Flyers.

The only thing left to choose was the size. If they fit, you could take them home and wear them for any sport, any physical activity.

Today, the choice of athletic shoes is not so simple. There seem to be hundreds of different styles, shapes, colors and brands. It can be confusing and intimidating to a person who does not have a PhD in physical education.
