Sep. 13--A fourth-grader had a gun in his waistband and two bullets in his hand during class at Briarwood Elementary School Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
It was the second time in three days that a student was found with a gun. And in each case, state law prohibits the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from expelling the youth.
