Sep. 12--What began as a cruise for the Apollo High School volleyball team Tuesday night ended in a nail-biter.

Daviess County pulled even from a one-game deficit before the E-Gals recovered to claim a 25-13, 22-25, 25-22 win over their county rival at Daviess County High School.

"We did not take care of the ball at all, and Daviess County did," said Apollo coach Robyn Hetman of what prompted the change in fortunes during the second game. "We need to focus on what we need to do, and we didn't do that."

The turning point in the second game came with Apollo leading 14-11. The E-Gals hit three consecutive kill…
